Madison Enjoys Success in Buffalo NY
On May 3rd & 4th, Madison rode Point Taken owned by the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center (BTRC) to the year-end Modified Junior Hunter Championship in Buffalo, NY. "Felix" is a 17-hand German gelding
who started showing with Madison this winter in Ocala, FL. While in Florida, Madison was Reserve Champion several times in the 12-13 equitation aboard Felix, and the pair also earned many top ribbons in the Children's Hunters,
including a score of 90 in a Marshall & Sterling Classic. Look for more good things from these two at the Skidmore Classic in Saratoga Springs, NY this June!
Watch For These Green Ponies in 2008
Hunter Ridge riders have already set their sites on the 2008 show season for their pony hunters. Jessica Windhurst will be riding The Bee's Knees,
Runaway Bunny, who is being leased by Abigail Brayman from Rabbit Hill Farm, and Ducks Unlimited owned by Madison Brayman will all be moving into
the Green Pony Hunters for 2008. We are confident these rider/pony combinations will be very succesful in the coming year. Good luck, girls!
UPDATE: Madison qualified the Bees Knees for the Finals on April 6th at the Pines. Way to go Madison and Romeo!
Hunter Ridge Starting Interscholastic Teams
Hunter Ridge is starting two interscholastic riding teams--one for middle school age riders and one for high school riders. Riders do not
have to own their own horses to join the team and compete. There are divisions ranging from walk-trot to 3-feet. Competitions are held at various barns in and around
RI once or twice a month. Team practices are held a few days before the competition and riders seeking more practice can do that as well. Please contact us if
you are interested!
Congratulations, Jessica!
Hunter Ridge would like to congratulate Jessica Windhurst on the purchase of Victorian (Tori). Tori is a 10 year-old Warmblood mare who has been showing successfully in the pre-greens, including at HITS. After a successful pony career, Jessica is looking forward to showing Tori in the Children's Equitation and Children's Hunters. We wish Jessica and Tori lots of luck (and ribbons!) in their new partnership!

Two of Karin's Students showing at the Hampton Classic Horse Show
Hunter Ridge to Hold Karin Immerman Clinic
Karin P. Immerman is an "R" rated USEF judge holding licenses in Hunters, Hunt Seat
Equitation, Hunter Breeding and Jumpers. Karin brings a unique perspective to the ring when she conducts a
clinic. Having spent her life working with young horses: breaking them, starting them over fences, taking
them to their first shows, Karin can assist most riders in achieving the success they are looking for.
After 16 years of judging up to 29 shows a year, her highly critical eye along with the vast fund of knowledge
enables her to see what the problem is and how it can be corrected. In addition to making final adjustments to
a horse's performance Karin has worked with every level of rider. A true believer in serious flatwork being the real
route to a successful jumping horse, all of Karin's long-term students know about hardwork and no stirrups!
~ 5 national champions
~ 6 zone award winners
~ 10 medal qualifiers
~ 5 state champions
Karin's proven success is a testament to her knowledge and skill as a horseman.
The clinic will be held August 24th and 25th. Hour and a half sessions will be $75, Auditor's fee is $15.
Madison Presented with Sportsmanship Award at Harrisburg
For 61 years the annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg has been considered to be one of the most prestigious shows in the country. Competitors must qualify for the show based on the USEF National Horse of the Year points they win during a
qualifying period. Madison qualified to ride Tippy Hedron in the Small Pony Hunter division again this year, a major achievement in itself. They not only captured a 7th place finish in the Small Pony Hunter Stake, but Madison was awarded the Pony Sportsmanship
Award and was given a saddle in recognition of that honor! Her parents, and all of Hunter Ridge, could not be any prouder!
Jessica & Madison Ride at 2006 Pony Finals
Hunter Ridge headed to Kentucky's National Horse Park for the 2006 Pony Finals with Jessica and Madison. Madison was 8th over fences and 9th overall on Kool Whip in the
green pony hunters while Jessica had a great over fences trip, placing 15th and finishing 22nd overall in that same division
on Tristan Cinderella. Madison rode Tippy to a 6th in the under saddle and finished 15th overall in the Regular Small Pony Hunter division.
But the ribbons and the great rides are only half of it, the kids spent 7 days making new friends with fellow pony lovers from around the country, attending exhibitor parties
and participating in other fun activities. We are very proud of both girls!

2006 RI Equitation Championships
Hunter Ridge sent 5 riders to this year's RI Finals (Madison, Abigail & Jessica were showing in NY): Wendi, Kate, Caitlin, Sammie and Gwen braved the cold, rainy, windy day. Wendi put in a fabulous trip in the Amateur
Adult Mini-Medal Championship and received a very high score that would lead the class for much of the day. With just a few points separating the top riders, Wendi was asked back to the ring for the test and was awarded the
fourth place prize! Congratulations Wendi! She was also 7th in the Classic while Kate O'Neil was 4th! Sammie was 7th in the Jr. Horsemanship class with Kate and Wendi 4th and 5th respectively in their horsemanship test.
To quote Wendy, "Everyone rode great!"

Hunter Ridge Opens Its New Show Ring
At the August 27th 2006 Hunter Ridge horse show, Wendy and Matt cut the ribbon to open their new sand show ring/arena. The ring is approximately 240 feet long and 150 feet wide!!
This huge ring gives riders plenty of room to navigate the courses and USE THOSE CORNERS! It is also a course designer's dream to have no space limitations and lots of jumps set up at once. It is a
great venue for spectators, as well, as the grass slopes up away from the ring so you can see over the railings, and picnic tables sit at a plateau above the ring. A tent can be set next to the ring, as well so that
spectators can get out of the sun or rain and still be able to watch the course. A great addition to an already beautiful facility.
